Naming New Horizons's Next Destination

NASA wants your help naming New Horizons’ next destination | Science News
Vote - online at frontierworlds.com

On New Year's Day, New Horizons will fly by a small Kuiper Belt Object named (486958) 2014 MU69. But NASA invited the SETI Institute to host a poll for a nicer name. The SETI Institute then vetted all the proposed names that it got, to keep names like "Planet McPlanetface" from getting voted on. From Science News:
Current candidates range from Mjölnir (the hammer of the Norse god Thor) to Z’ha’dum (a planet from Babylon 5) to Peanut, Almond and Cashew — multiple name options may be necessary if the object is a binary pair.
The SETI Institute's list of candidates is in Voter's Guide, and how many votes they got is in Vote Tally - online

The candidates:
Abeona | Año Nuevo | A'Tuin | Camalor | Chomolungma, Sagarmatha | Denali | Far-point | Huginn & Muninn | Kibo, Mawenzi, Shira | Lewis & Clark | Mawu-Lisa | Megalith | Mjölnir | Monolith | Niflheim | Nubbin | Olaf | Olympus | Pangu | Patagonia | Peanut, Almond, Cashew | Petra | Pharos | Pinnacle | Pluck & Persistence | Rubicon | Sagittarius | Sharazad | Tangotango & Tawhaki | Terra Nova | Tiamat & Abzu | Tiramisu | Trantor | Ultima Thule | Uluru | Wynken, Blynken, & Nod | Z'ha'dum

No word on when a name will be announced.
