Absurd objections to women voting

This is the place to discuss the past, its study, and those who study it. Discussion about events that happened less than twenty years ago should go go in Politics instead.

Absurd objections to women voting

11 Unbelievable Justifications Men Used To Keep Women From Voting
What might surprise you is that some of the arguments against women's suffrage came from females themselves. Large groups of women organized and protested against the suffrage movement, believing that if women became involved in politics, they would ignore their domestic duties.
I'll list them.
  1. If Women Vote, The Human Race Will End -- from not having children.
  2. Women Are Too Emotional To Be Responsible Voters
  3. Women Shouldn’t Get The Vote Because Men Would Have To Hear Them Talk More
  4. Women’s Sole Patriotic Contribution Should Be To Raise Sons
  5. Women Don’t Need To Vote Because Men Will Always Vote With Their Interests In Mind
  6. Women Don’t Need To Vote Because They Already Have Everything They Want
  7. Women Are Too Delicate To Engage In Politics
  8. The Voting Polls Are Not Fit For Women
  9. If Women Get The Vote, Men Might Lose Respect For Them
  10. Women's Suffrage Will Emasculate Men -- by challenging men's authority in their homes
  11. If Women Vote, Families Will Suffer -- from interfering with these women's domestic duties

#3 is the only one that makes sense. :p
There is no such thing as "politically correct." It's code for liberalism. The whole idea of "political correctness" was a brief academic flash-in-the-pan in the early 1990's, but has been a good conservative bugaboo ever since.

About #10: Extending the voting franchise to women certainly challenged men's authority in their homes - at last. :D

Women are too stupid to be allowed the vote...

...but so are men.

Worst system of government, except for all the others that have been tried. - Winnie

Are you too stupid to vote too, or are you the exception?

I am the exception of course. Did you even need to ask? Unfortunately there is no-one decent to vote for.

I always partially see my vote as a giant FUCK YOU! to all those who would have prevented me from voting due to being a woman.

:D
And is it worth the wait
All this killing time?

So there are exceptions.

On a pro rata basis, do you think there are fewer among women?

Oh yes. There is one exception for males (me) and none for women. So there are indeed fewer among women.
