Default Christian Taliban Pastor Calls for Executing All Gays by Xmas

link

Quote:
It sounds like a sermon that would be delivered in Uganda, but it’s actually from the mouth of an American pastor in Arizona.

Conservative Christian Pastor Steven Anderson openly called for executing every gay person in America during a Sunday sermon at his church in Tempe, Arizona. He claimed from the pulpit that gays need to be put to death in the name of God by Christmas Day in an effort to wipe out AIDS, even though AIDS is not a virus exclusive to the LGBT community. Anderson opined:

"Turn to Leviticus 20:13, because I actually discovered the cure for AIDS. If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them. And that, my friend, is the cure for AIDS. It was right there in the Bible all along — and they’re out spending billions of dollars in research and testing. It’s curable — right there. Because if you executed the homos like God recommends, you wouldn’t have all this AIDS running rampant."
He should be charged if anyone murders any gay people due to what he said.

"It has been learnt that the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Gandhinagar, Thomas Macwan, had last week issued a letter in which he urged the members of the community to save the country from so-called “nationalist forces”.

According to him, the sense of insecurity among minorities was increasing due to the notion of hyper-nationalism. In Gujarat's political circles, the appeal was seen as an indirect call to vote against the ruling BJP.

Gandhinagar Collector and District Election Officer Satish Patel told PTI that the EC issued the notice after taking cognizance of media reports and asked the archbishop to clarify his intention behind issuing such a letter."

The archbishop should not have indulged in politicking. Only 2%-3% of Gujarat's population is Christian. And the party against which the Archbishop is railing, Prime Minister Modi's party, is sure to win the election. If people should not vote for 'nationalist forces", should they vote for "anti-national forces"? Any religion based call to vote is a cognizable offense in India.

Society would be better off if all christian taliban pastors were executed by Xmas. Or within the next hour, for that matter. Not advocating it, just saying we would be better off. Certainly women, atheists, and LGBT would be.

And how would wiping out gays wipe out AIDS in heterosexuals? In some regions AIDS is more common in heterosexuals than homosexuals.

How would this mass execution comport with the 6th commandment?
How would it be justified given Christ's command to love and forgive one another?

It would also certainly be considered a crime against humanity.

Or his command to heal the sick, for that matter? Last I checked, murdering the patient did not count as a successful medical intervention. But of course such "Christians" like to trumpet the Great Commission as a contentless battle cry without paying any attention to its stipulations.

You seem to be expecting logic from this guy, when not even coherence is evident. Foaming at the mouth about shit is like that.

For the Non-Americans here - could he face criminal charges in your country for saying this if he did it there?

Oh he could here, if someone can prove that there was a direct connection between the statement and the crime.

Well, maybe if one of his congregation actually murdered people. But I know in Europe where 100% free speech isn't the rule hate speech can be prosecuted. Especially literally endorsing Nazi policies.

Funny how it doesn't seem to occur to him that the shoe could be on the other foot someday.

Some Christians seem to find no middle ground between being persecuted, and being the ones doing the persecuting. Divine command ethics...

Not a surprise to me.

The word "occur" requires having a mind and the ability to think. I see no evidence of either.

It's all bound together. Leaving other people the fuck alone is an incomprehensible concept for biblebangers, since those people defy the "authority" manufactured from thin air.

Defending one's self from biblebangers is claimed to be "persecution".

I've often said they seem to feel persecuted when they are prevented from persecuting women, gays, non-Christians, etc.

Interesting question! I am Norwegian and, truly, I don't know.

As a humanist, I feel that anybody could charge anyone for anything and, if I was gay, I would certainly take this man to justice. I am a very straight grand-father, madly in love with by beautiful wife but i grew up with a brother who was living with another man.

My opinion is that, straight, gay, women, black, dwarfs, we are all members of the mankind family with our diversities. Wouldn't it be boring if we were all the same?
